Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Gault.
Hi Sarah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I grew up with a Mother with back pain and developed my own as a teenager, one thing I saw that helped her and effectively helped me as well was body work. In 2009 I started my journey as a massage therapist and reiki practitioner. Over the last 17 years I have continued to learn a plethora of bodywork and energy healing modalities to bring to my beloved clients. I have an office in two counties that I serve as a healer bringing pain relief and energetic healing to assist my clients shift from surviving to thriving by bringing serenity to the body, mind, and spirit.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was a journey to promote myself and the majority of my clients found me through word of mouth. As I continued this work I realized that an additional modality of healing I wanted to offer people was psychotherapy. I decided to enter back into academia as I continue my work in my massage therapy practice. Over a long hard road of financial struggles that come with school I earned an Associate’s and a Bachelor’s degrees in psychology. I recently finished with my Masters in Marriage and family therapy. I continue the long journey as a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist earning hours towards licensing to continue to add more tools to my toolkit of helping others. Its still a long road to finish that will allow me to continue to help people with their mind/body/spirit connection. Massage will always be my first love and I plan to continue offering those services for a long time. While it has been a long and difficult journey, I find it worthwhile and rewarding when I see the beautiful healing shifts in my clients both on the massage table and in the world.
As you know, we’re big fans of Touch of Serenity. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I offer massage therapy to my clients that’s catered to their needs. Instead of offering different stand alone types of massage we sit and talk in the beginning of session to discover what different modalities will help them best that day. Through collaboration we tailor the session to what their body is needing. Some of the modalities I used the most in addition to therapeutic touch and deep tissue is hot stone, warm bamboo, cupping, and reiki.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The quality I feel that has been most important to my success is listening to my clients and being present with them meeting them where they are at to provide them with what they need that day.
