Check Out Janine Haynes’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Janine Haynes.

Hi Janine, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hello, my name is Janine and I am a haunted history tour guide here in San Diego. I have always loved history and paranormal investigation. It was only fitting I would become a haunted history tour guide. I work at Haunted San Diego Tours which is a tour company that presents their tours in a theatrical way. Full costumes and all.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Becoming a tour guide was an easy transition. It feels like I was made for this exact career. The hardest part for me was memorizing my tour material. Once that was down the acting part came naturally. My character is Kat and I am from the 1850’s here in San Diego’s oldest cities, Old Town and New Town (currently known as the Gaslamp Quarter).

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I give walking and bus tours through out San Diego. Many of my guest reviews mention how talented I am with my storytelling. Many remarking about my comedic talents. With the name Kat you can imagine the fun cat jokes I throw in. It’s purrr-fect! I am proud to be one of the top tour guides in San Diego and for all my 5 star reviews.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
If you aspire to be tour guide I recommended going for it. Put that application in and when hired be sure to take it all in. Ask your co-workers for any advice. Most tour guides enjoy helping others to find their unique style of storytelling.
