Daily Inspiration: Meet Alma Flores

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alma Flores.

Hi Alma, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Soul Flower Screen Printing and Design, LLC started in 2020 as a small home based business during the pandemic. I have always had a creative background and an interest in graphic design, so I began creating custom items and apparel for family, friends, and members of the community.
What started small gradually grew through word of mouth, returning customers, and support from the local community. Over the years, I have continued learning, investing in new equipment, and expanding the services I offer, including custom apparel, embroidery, DTF printing, sublimation, and personalized products.
Today, I am grateful to have built a business that allows me to use my creativity while helping local families, schools, sports teams, organizations, and businesses bring their ideas to life. I am still growing and learning, and I am excited to see where the business goes next.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Like many small business owners, I started with an idea and had to learn a lot along the way. One of the biggest challenges has been learning the different sides of running a business while continuing to improve my craft and keep up with new equipment, techniques, and trends.
Balancing a growing business with family and everyday responsibilities has also been challenging at times. There have been plenty of trial and error moments, but each challenge has taught me something and helped me grow as both a business owner and a person.
I’m still learning every day, and I think that is part of being an entrepreneur. You learn to adapt, solve problems, and keep moving forward.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I do custom apparel and personalized items, including DTF printing, embroidery, sublimation, stickers, and custom gifts. I work with families, sports teams, schools, organizations, and local businesses.

I’m most proud that a lot of my business has grown through word of mouth and returning customers. I really enjoy taking someone’s idea and helping bring it to life. I think what sets me apart is that I try to keep things reasonably priced while still giving my customers quality work and personal service.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
I don’t know if I have one specific favorite childhood memory, but some of my best memories are just spending time with my family. Family has always been very important to me, and those are the memories I appreciate the most.
