Today we’d like to introduce you to Donzelly.
Hi Donzelly, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My love for music started in elementary school. I hated going to school so when the school district advertised “ensemble”a music program that would allow you to miss school a few days out the week I was 100% interested in auditioning. We traveled to perform at venues and got to record in a major recording studios. Few years passed and I picked up music again as a way to not be bored on summer break and the rest is history
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not,I think the process of making music is simple ,but trying to make a profit from your music acquires you to put your thinking cap on.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m Donzelly representing the 562 (Long Beach to be exact) I’m an artist. I rap/produce/direct/model and curate. Us being human we’re literally a 1 or 1 and that in itself sets us apart from one another. The qualities of myself that I highlight is my determination to set a goal and work relentlessly to see it come into fruition. To be successful you have to have a certain type of delusion to see it through especially with all the obstacles life throws at you
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
My advice is to study the field you’re interested in being in. Watch countless hours of YouTube videos. Read the books from the people in your industry. Always be willing and ready to learn. The key is to be teachable, but still apply your own life lessons so the advice can mold into your own.
