Today we’d like to introduce you to Susan Postigo.
Hi Susan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
As a parent and grandparent of special needs boys, my dream was always to provide employment for our special needs community. This enables them to feel independent! They are very valuable employees. My husband passed away and the opportunity came up for me to take over a Thrift and Resale Store in Hollister. The clients come in , they tag clothes, hang clothes and basically do whatever is asked of them. They love the experience and we love them.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As owning a business and especially one we had no experience in was a little challenging. My daughter and our volunteers are huge helpers. Our challenges have been how long to keep items in the store, where to stage items for viewing and most importantly staffing
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Our thrift and resale store is known for the ” Cheers Resale store in Hollister ” our customer service is our number 1 priority. We also value our Special friends employees and volunteers. They also make their own special items for sale.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Well I believe we could grow. However I have learned bigger sometimes is not better. I believe we are exactly where we need to be
