Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Curi.
Hi Patricia , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Patricia Flowers & Events began in Brazil, where my passion for flowers and event design first took shape. After moving to California, I continued developing my work and created Patricia Flowers & Events in Carlsbad, bringing together my Brazilian roots with the California aesthetic and lifestyle that inspired me.
Today, that journey has evolved into Bossa Bloom, a floral and event design brand connected to both Carlsbad and Brazil. Bossa Bloom represents this new chapter of my life — a blend of Brazilian creativity, California influences, and my love for creating beautiful, meaningful experiences through flowers.
For me, flowers are much more than decoration. They are a way to tell a story, create an atmosphere, and make a moment unforgettable.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been a lovely journey, but not always a smooth one. I still remember one of my first Quinceañeras. The client ordered hydrangeas but didn’t specify the color. I chose beautiful blue and lilac hydrangeas, while she was expecting pink. I was nervous when I realized the difference, but she ended up loving the colors even more than she had imagined!
Moments like that taught me to trust my creative instincts while also learning how important communication and attention to detail are when working with clients. Every event has its own story, and sometimes the unexpected becomes the most beautiful part.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work is primarily focused on floral design and creating beautiful, thoughtful floral experiences. I love working with flowers, exploring color, texture, movement, and seasonal elements to create arrangements that feel unique and personal.
What sets me apart is my attention to detail and my desire to always go beyond what is expected. I don’t simply want to create what a client ordered . I love adding an unexpected touch or special detail that makes them smile and feel surprised in the best way.
I’m most proud of bringing creativity, emotion, and a personal touch to every floral creation. For me, flowers are a form of art and a way to make people feel something.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I believe the best way to find a mentor or build meaningful connections is to be genuinely curious, show up, and be willing to learn. I’ve found that relationships grow naturally when you admire someone’s work and approach them with sincerity rather than simply asking for something.
Networking has also worked best for me through the floral community, events, social media, and simply saying yes to opportunities. I try to connect with people whose work inspires me, share ideas, and offer my own skills whenever I can.
I also believe in staying open to learning from everyone. Sometimes a mentor is not someone you formally choose — it can be someone you meet through one project who inspires you to see your own work differently.
