Daily Inspiration: Meet Tyrell Furtado

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyrell Furtado.

Hi Tyrell, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I always loved to cook for as long as I can remember. I started working in restaurants back in 2010 starting off as a dishwasher and made my way up throughout the years in different kitchens. Fastforward to 2020 when Covid hit I decided to start cooking at home for friends and family when restaurants started shutting down. 2023, I decided to move from Rhode Island to California with my partner to start a new chapter in life. Since being out here I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to be a private chef and to start my own business (Ty’s Kitchen)

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been smooth but nothing ever is as a business owner. Being consistent and passionate about my career always kept and keeps me pushing.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
So I am a private chef! I am also a mobile food vendor (Ty’s Kitchen). You can either find me cooking a coursed meal in a clients home or around San diego at a pop up selling delicious soul food! One thing I take pride in is my baked Mac! I can promise you it’s the best baked Mac in all of Cali, but I’ll let you find out for yourself!

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I wouldn’t say it’s surprising but I like working in silence most times 😂😂
