Community Highlights: Meet Sabrina Andrade of THE MIND BODY STUDIO

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina Andrade.

Sabrina, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story begins when I got my hands on my first personal development book, Think and Grow Rich. I was 24 years old, broke, got fired from Fitness 19 and I had to move back home- I was in a bad place at that time but that book lit a fire of purpose and gave me all the tools I needed which is MINDSET.
Shortly after I read that book, within three months, I opened up my very first studio.
I started very small, I couldn’t afford anything besides what I found at yard sales. I started from the ground up.

Fast-forward 12 years- I have a big beautiful Women’s only Gym called NEW MIND NEW BODY FITNESS and
a Boutique Reformer Pilates Studio, The Mind Body Studio.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There is no such thing as a smooth road, especially when you’re broke and unexperienced, which was me for a very long time.
When you have a strong mindset and work ethic, you will always find a way- but it’s not always the best way- but we do the best we can with what we have.

We’ve been impressed with THE MIND BODY STUDIO, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Mind Body Studio, which is a Pilates and Wellness studio, will be turning one year this October.

Because of my 12 years of experience in business ownership, the reputation of my brand and the help of my partner- the seeds of our studio have grown in so many ways.

We are fairly new to Pilates, but we are highly experienced in providing quality service, growing community and making our members feel valued, seen and heard.

Many things set us apart from other studios in our area.
First- Our instructors come from a fitness background, with that includes the encouragement and knowledge of the importance of strength and resistance training- BECAUSE YOU NEED BOTH.

Second- Our instructors are knowledgeable and prioritize on health, longevity, and proper nutrition.
Food is fuel. If women want physical change, hormonal balance and better quality of life, they need to take that next step into their nutrition and lifestyle habits.

Third- We make EVERYONE feel welcomed and accepted. No MEAN GIRL VIBES, that we hear so much of.

I want our readers to understand that The Mind Body Studio isn’t just a Pilates studio, it’s a space for our members to grow and thrive- mentally physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
I give credit to Stephanie Maunu.
She started as my client, then became one of my group class instructors, to now my gym manager and my studio partner.
.
She has the most important job, which is to make our members happy- and she does- and that’s why our retention is high, and the growth of our business continues.
.
It’s very hard to single-handedly run a business, and with her by my side, we’ve been able to scale and now venture into a new business.
