Today we’d like to introduce you to Meg Brown.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was fortunate enough to find my calling at the age of twelve when my friend and I box dyed my hair “606 Auburn” from Nice n’ Easy. I went from a natural dark brunette to a vibrant redhead. I was a paralyzingly shy kid and in that moment I felt like who I was on the inside was able to shine on the outside without saying a word. That was it for me!
learned I could make a living offering wonderful, often life-changing transformations for anyone in less than a few hours. Pairing that with my love of travel, the Nomadic Stylist was born. After completing my BA in Studio Art from the University of Iowa, I headed to the flagship Aveda Institute in Minneapolis. From The Vidal Sassoon Academy in London, to NY Fashion week, to the Virgin Islands; I study, work and teach as far as I can dream!
My passion for organic, non-toxic and clean products began at 19 when I lost my mother suddenly to colon cancer. It opened my eyes to the fragility of life and the reality that so many products we use on a day-to-day basis are often harmful to us and our world. I’ve been on a quest to help all living beings heal since.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. As I grow my business and train in other artists, I grapple with impostors syndrome and the fragility of my ego when things doing go as I hope.
I came from a very broken home and the sky was not the limit. Healing, growing from the ground up and finding my authentic voice have been my biggest struggles.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a hair and makeup artist specializing in clean, sustainable products. A tree is planted in honor of each person I work with.
I mainly do bridal work in Ca but I also travel to Minneapolis every six weeks for my cutting and coloring clientele.
I’m known for natural, effortless looks. I’m known for creating a calm, peaceful environment and helping everyone feel their best.
Any big plans?
I’m growing my bridal business to include more price points to be more inclusive.
I’m also working towards a vegan nutrition certification to help more heal and feel beautiful from the inside out.
