Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Alexander.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Anthony Alexander. I started singing when I was about 8 years old and never looked back! I come from a background of singers and musicians starting with my grandfather, down to my father and uncles on both sides of my family. I started playing small venues around 12 years old and still going strong !
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Success is never a smooth ride. There have been times where I forgot lyrics, or equipment didn’t work right. There has also been times where you’re playing to nobody in the audience, or playing to a large crowd and things just don’t go your way. But that’s all part of learning and building experience. There have been much more good times than bad times, but I appreciate all of the bad times because they formed what I do today
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Well first I’m at a singer and performer. I perform at many wineries, bars, and private parties and events. I love what I do. As my day job, I am a camera technician for live tv productions like The Voice and other shows. I’m actually working on the VMAs today !
But this is not all I want to do. I am currently studying to be a firefighter since I have a passion to help people.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was always a very energetic and creative kid. I never sat still. From what my parents and family say, it was difficult to keep me put lol. But overall I was a good kid. I just had a lot of energy and had to find somewhere to place all of that energy
