Check Out Graffiti Bleu’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Graffiti Bleu.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Born in the same place that Hip-Hop was born, The Bronx New York. I came up in NYC during the so-called “golden era” of Hip-Hop at ground zero on the planet it was happening on. Grew up fast as a word nerd in a land of gamblers, scramblers, pimps, pushers and dope fiends. How I survived Rond Reagan’s America in the 80’s is anyone’s guess. Grew to be a street poet with a fair amount of so-called “Hood Fame” which led me to the offices of Lyor Cohen Vice President of Def Jam Records at the time and the end of my pursuit of fame and celebrity culture. Went the independent artist route and then had an explosion of creativity energy, publishing 6 books, releasing 5 albums and curating 2 poetry venues over a 15 year period. I’ve performed in almost every state as well as overseas with no regrets.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey has been filled with blessings and challenges. My greatest challenge was and still is staying focused on creating for the love of creativity and not for the search of validation.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a novelist, a spoken word poet and a hip hop Emcee. When it comes to books, I write in the genres of suspense and romance. When it comes to the spoken word, people describe my shows as very animative and creative. In the world of hip hop, I love telling stories.

What matters most to you?
I am a Justice warrior who hates bullies. This is evident in my art.
