Today we’d like to introduce you to Stefany.
Hi Stefany, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey as a content creator and entrepreneur started long before I ever thought of myself as either one. I began my creative career as a professional makeup artist while attending college, working backstage at fashion shows, teaching seminars, and representing major beauty brands. Those early experiences introduced me to the worlds of fashion, beauty, storytelling, and events, while my professional career in public service, operations, public relations, global partnerships, and project management taught me how to build something beyond the creative idea. Eventually, my love for travel and culture became Wandering Stefany, a platform where I could share the places, people, food, fashion, and experiences that inspired me. What started as a passion grew into opportunities to create content and cover major cultural, travel, entertainment, and fashion events around the world, including New York Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, Premios Lo Nuestro, the LA Times Festival of Books, and more.
Entrepreneurship became a natural extension of that journey. I went from creating content to producing experiences, developing partnerships, moderating conversations, speaking at industry events, and helping build brands and communities. As a cofounder of ESTILO LATAM, I had the opportunity to combine my background in operations with my passion for fashion and Latino culture, helping produce experiences from Napa Valley to Paris and eventually becoming a semifinalist in Pharrell Williams’ Black Ambition Prize. Through my work with the Latinx Travel Club and other organizations, I also gained experience in global partnerships, large scale events, editorial operations, public relations, and community building. Every chapter has taught me that being a creator is about much more than what you post online. It is about understanding business, protecting your ideas, knowing your value, building community, and creating opportunities that can grow beyond you.
One of the greatest lessons throughout my career has been the power of relationships. So many of the opportunities that have shaped me came from building genuine connections, showing up for people, staying curious, and maintaining relationships long after a project or event ended. I have also been incredibly blessed to have both formal and informal mentors throughout my journey: people who saw something in me, shared their knowledge, opened doors, challenged me, or simply gave me advice at exactly the right moment. Some probably never realized I considered them mentors. Those relationships taught me that networking is not simply about asking what someone can do for you; it is about building trust, creating community, and finding ways to pour into others as well. Today, whether I am walking into a room as a creator, entrepreneur, speaker, producer, or businesswoman, I carry pieces of every person and experience that helped me get there. And as my career continues to evolve, I hope to be that same source of connection, encouragement, and opportunity for the next woman coming behind me.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road to where I am today has not always been easy. Behind the accomplishments, beautiful destinations, exciting projects, and opportunities have been many lessons, sacrifices, and moments that forced me to reevaluate what success really means to me. For years, one of my greatest challenges was learning how to balance the amount of myself I poured into my work with the time and energy I needed to give to my life at home and, most importantly, to my own health. I have always been someone who dreams big and gives everything to the projects I believe in, but I have learned that ambition without balance eventually comes at a cost. Learning to prioritize my well being has become just as important as anything I could accomplish professionally.
The last two years, in particular, have brought some of the greatest grief and transformation of my life. I experienced the loss of my dear pet, walked through a deeply painful and disrespectful divorce, became a new mother, and found myself learning how to navigate motherhood as a single mom while simultaneously rebuilding my life. There were moments when it felt as though I was grieving several versions of my old life at once. At the same time, I was becoming someone completely new. Motherhood changed my perspective, my priorities, and the way I think about the future. Rebuilding has required me to learn who I am again, not just as a creator, entrepreneur, or professional, but as a woman.
And that is why, beyond the accolades, bright lights, beautiful events, and career milestones, this chapter is the one I am most proud of. I am proud of the woman and mother I have become through circumstances I never imagined I would have to navigate. Success looks different to me now. It is being present for my son. It is protecting my health and my peace. It is continuing to dream while understanding that I do not have to sacrifice myself in order to achieve those dreams. I am still ambitious, still creative, and still excited about what is ahead, but I am moving forward with a deeper sense of purpose. This chapter may not be the most glamorous one, but it has required the most courage, growth, and grace from me, and for that reason, it means more to me than any accolade ever could.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Wandering Stefany is my personal brand and creative platform where I bring together my love for travel, culture, food, fashion, and unforgettable experiences. I’ve built a community that trusts me to share authentic recommendations, from hidden gems and beautiful destinations to major fashion, travel, and entertainment events around the world. What I’m most proud of is that my platform has grown while still feeling genuinely like me: a San Francisco native with Salvadoran roots, a bilingual storyteller, world traveler, entrepreneur, and now a mother experiencing the world through a new lens. What sets Wandering Stefany apart is that I don’t simply showcase beautiful places or experiences; I tell the stories behind them, highlight the people and cultures that make them special, and bring my audience along in a way that feels personal, elevated, and accessible. At its heart, Wandering Stefany is about inspiring people to explore beyond what they know, experience more of the world, and create a life filled with meaningful experiences.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me at this stage of my life is the impact I can make by showing up authentically as who I am. I want to use my voice, my experiences, and my platform to inspire others, create meaningful opportunities, and build something with purpose that extends far beyond me. As my platform continues to grow, I never want success to come at the expense of losing myself or becoming disconnected from the values, relationships, and people who have kept me grounded throughout every chapter of my life.
Above all, my family and the life I create at home will always be at the center of everything I do. My definition of success has evolved beyond accomplishments, recognition, or the next opportunity. Today, it is about building generational wealth, protecting what matters most, and creating a legacy rooted in love, stability, opportunity, and purpose. I want the work I do today to open doors not only for myself, but for my family and future generations. Ultimately, I hope my legacy is measured not simply by what I accomplished, but by what I built, who I impacted, and what I was able to leave behind for the people I love most.
