Exploring Life & Business with Lauren And Frank Leon of Clairvoyaging

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren And Frank Leon.

Hi Lauren and Frank, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Frank and I are both Southern California natives, and we met in a very LA way: in a band. I grew up singing and performing, and Frank had been playing in bands since high school. We were friends for years before falling in love, getting married, and having two kids. Through it all, we never stopped creating together. From music to improv and sketch comedy to writing and producing short films, we’ve pretty much always had some creative project in the works.

Starting an esoteric podcast wasn’t exactly part of the plan. But in 2023, our five-year-old daughter had a psychic experience at school that changed the direction of our lives. She was playing on the monkey bars during recess, and she hopped off and walked over to a yard duty named Ms. Dee and said “excuse me…your mom died.” Ms. Dee was obviously taken aback (and a little insulted!) and replied, “no, she didn’t. And that’s not a nice thing to say to people.” Our daughter said “I’m sorry, but she died,” and then walked away. Ms. Dee went home later that day and got the news that her ailing mother had passed. Our little five-year old was right. I didn’t even hear about this until a week later, when Ms. Dee caught up with me at morning drop-off. In addition to giving my condolences on her mother’s passing, and my apologies for my daughter’s somewhat brazen delivery, I was stunned at this information. Ms. Dee, who had been private about her mother’s ailment said there was no way our daughter would have known about it. Frank and I had a little psychic on our hands. And we had no idea what to do about it. How could we support our daughter who was having experiences we didn’t have access to?

Frank and I had both been interested in the paranormal but we weren’t necessarily spiritual, and we didn’t consider ourselves to be psychic. We wanted to understand what our daughter was experiencing, and how we could help her, as she was starting to become scared. Besides a few books and blogs, there weren’t many resources for parents in this situation. So we started the Clairvoyaging podcast. We asked psychics and subject matter experts about their experiences and what it was like when they were growing up as intuitive children. Many said that to deepen your intuition, you have to heal your trauma. I dove right in and took my first Reiki class and started my own long healing journey. Frank followed soon after, and we both explored shadow work and inner child healing. We started intuitively coaching each other and our friends and family because we had learned so much and wanted to share our understanding.

Today, Clairvoyaging has grown beyond the podcast into a community centered on empowerment and personal growth. Looking back, it’s pretty wild that one experience with our daughter led us here. What began as an effort to understand and support her ultimately helped us understand ourselves, and now we’re creating ways to share that journey with others.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oof. I wouldn’t say it’s been super smooth! It’s been a huge healing journey, which was the most unexpected part. We started off making a podcast that was kind of like “what are ghosts?” to us addressing our deepest fears and publicly working out our trauma in hopes that our audience could benefit from our experience. We have talked about Frank losing his job and deciding that he’s done with corporate life for good. We’ve shared that we were selling our home and moving our family to a different city, which was a big and somewhat terrifying leap. But it’s all been worth it, especially when we hear from a listener who says they are experiencing something similar. We’ve learned how to bet on ourselves, in real time, while simultaneously gathering information to help our children do the same.

The benefit of the public struggle is that we have over 100 hours of content showing we completed the clueless-to-spiritual coach work. It’s a character arc we didn’t ask for, but one we’re proud of nonetheless. It keeps us honest, as well. We can’t pretend like we’re gurus who have all the answers (you can go listen to us fumble through every spiritual topic under the sun) but what it does prove is that we’re great at navigating difficult topics with you, while keeping things authentic, meaningful, and humorous if we can help it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
The services and content at Clairvoyaging is for people who are curious about intuition, empowerment, and healing but don’t know where to start, or who have had experiences they can’t quite explain.

What sets us apart is that Frank and I started our journey as beginners and we’ve never pretended otherwise; we laugh at ourselves a lot. We learned out loud, on our podcast, by asking psychics, mediums, healers, and even neuroscientists the questions many people feel too embarrassed to ask. We’re happy to ask the stupid questions (I once asked a psychic if she could hear dolphin’s thoughts)! You don’t need the right vocabulary, the right crystals, or a particular belief system to belong here. We also lead with humor, because healing doesn’t have to be so serious all the time.

We coach based on a healing method we developed, called The Clairvoyaging Healing Method. It focuses on using your body as a map, unwinding your limiting beliefs, and rediscovering your innate joy.

Here’s what we offer:

The Clairvoyaging Podcast: over 100 episodes of conversations about intuition, spirit, grief, and healing.

One-on-one coaching with either of us: I focus on healing, joy, and empowerment, and Frank uses Reiki and his intuitive insight to distill and navigate challenges.

Raising Psychic Children: a course and community for parents of intuitive and sensitive kids. It’s the resource we wish we’d had when our daughter had her experience.

Workshops: Summon Your Fire, a healing workshop for people ready to rediscover their joy and empower their feminine energy, and Permission to Play, an in-person improv class launching soon in North County, San Diego.

Clairhollow: Reiki-infused candles and coffee that come with guided meditations in the form of storytelling.

What we are most proud of is the messages we get from people who say our podcast was the first place they felt safe talking about this stuff, and from parents of psychic children, who finally feel less alone. We love being the bridge that meets people where they are and helps them get to the more authentic version of themselves using the spiritual tools we’ve learned.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Since we entered the esoteric world, practitioners have told us that the world is shifting significantly, spiritually and otherwise. We think they’re right. We’ve already seen a shift in people’s openness, and we think this industry will gain even more acceptance as spiritual practices become more normalized. Even in the media, witchcraft, witches, and tarot are being shown in a more positive light instead of as scary and “bad.”

Part of what’s driving that shift is how hard everything feels right now. The world often feels more chaotic than ever, we’re chugging from a firehose of news we didn’t ask for, and AI is coming for our jobs. Many people are finding that traditional life paths and spiritual methods simply aren’t delivering anymore. That’s why so many folks are walking away from organized religion and calling themselves spiritual but not religious.

But even when things feel bleak, we still need to take care of ourselves, heal, and keep that spark of joy in us lit. Blazing, even. Frank and I think the path forward is to keep the spiritual beliefs that resonate with you and build out from there. We just want to root for people as they discover their own individual healing path. We call it “normalizing your spiritual journey.” As people normalize their own journeys, they’ll realize they had everything they needed all along. So the real trend we see is toward individual openness and acceptance.
